Preventative Health is the Best Defense – Get Tested or Screened

Help Your Body Fight Inflammation With CBD

Inflammation is a response that occurs in two forms: acute and chronic.

Acute inflammation is the body’s inherent defense mechanism to injuries, stress, infections, diseases, allergies, environmental pollutants, and more. You can think of inflammation like a flame. Acute inflammation is like a fire that can be used to roast marshmallows, barbeque hot dogs, or stir-fry chow mein! Humanity would not exist and thrive without fire when applied through controlled and measured degrees.

However, chronic inflammation is like a raging fire that burns rather than gives life. Chronic inflammation is linked to chronic diseases that degenerate the cardiovascular, neurological, and hormonal systems of the human body. “Prevention is the best cure,” which is why doctors and medical experts have strongly urged their patients and the public to do everything they can in their lives to reduce the sources of potential for chronic inflammation.

Chronic inflammation can begin via the same process, with the body trying to rid itself of what the immune system interprets as foreign adversaries. But this can become a persistent state, even if the perceived threat isn’t truly harmful to one’s health. In autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, type 1 diabetes, ulcerative colitis, and multiple sclerosis, the body mistakenly reacts to its own tissues as if they were foreign, and produces damaging inflammation against them.

The average person is exposed to and experiences a myriad of sources of potential inflammation, even for those who live healthy and active lifestyles through diet and exercise.

Raising children, working, commuting, exercising, and even aging can cause inflammation through different pathways. The bottom line is that acute and chronic inflammation do not originate from a single source, and they can be difficult to prevent or reduce. However, one can maximize their efforts through supplementation, including CBD.

Cannabidiol naturally occurs in the cannabis plant. CBD alone is not psychoactive, however, it may be consumed in the format of a full spectrum CBD oil tincture containing a “variety of beneficial compounds, including phytocannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and essential fatty acids.” The composition of full-spectrum CBD supports recovery from the inflammation potentially caused by the stresses of work, exercise, and life.

While cannabis products are traditionally known for giving its users a “high” that feels like relaxation, euphoria, and drowsiness, full spectrum CBD unique is that it is extracted through the processing of the whole plant with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentrations below a legal limit. The legal limit of THC percentages in CBD products allows the user to enjoy the medical benefits without getting “high”.

A 300 mg dropper bottle of CBD is easy to travel with and much more accessible and suitable for users of certain walks of life, especially for those who participate or compete in amateur or professional sports. Athletic recovery is key to success. CBD oil can alleviate muscle soreness, offering the derived benefits without consuming marijuana or cannabis plant derivatives in ways that would violate laws or doping regulations.

Sport enthusiasts will agree that exercise promotes physical and mental well-being. Beyond the wear and tear of vigorous exercise, athletes experience the same sources of inflammation as the average person through life outside of sports. The strongest athlete in the world is not immune from the consequences that give rise to disease, which directly affect or hinder an athlete’s performance.
